LETTER: Winborn has knowledge, integrity for Clallam DCD

Winborn for DCD

A rather large ad by Julie Gardiner seems to infer that voluntary compliance is a procedure put in place as the means of resolving issues within Clallam County.

While this is indeed part of the county’s procedure, it is far from the only step in handling non-compliance issues.

Voluntary compliance is a first step used by the Department of Community Development to resolve issues with county residents.

The idea is to resolve a complaint with the minimum of problems, in a timely manner, and with the resident’s cooperation.

If voluntary compliance is not successful, the effort becomes more serious.

A final step can be direct action to remedy the issue at a potential cost to the county resident.

As a member of the Clallam County Planning Commission, I have worked with Mary Ellen Winborn and I believe she has the knowledge and integrity to best support our county’s efforts in development.

I strongly recommend all Clallam residents continue to support her for director of community development.

Scott Clausen,
