LETTER: Trump deems media ‘the enemy of the American people’

I had been working on a wanted poster for the repudiation and intimidation of the judges that blocked President Trump’s immigration ban.

I know it was ill-conceived, short-sighted and didn’t include Saudi Arabia where the 9/11 terrorists came from, but hey, he is just a beginner.

Maybe he will soon put out another decree that will pass that pesky constitutional muster.

Then suddenly, I had to drop No. 1 and start on No. 2 on the most wanted list, the one for the press.

It seems that President Donald Trump has accused the mainstreet media of presenting fake news and they have become “the enemy of the American people.”

Sorry, Peninsula Daily News, nothing personal, but I think you fall into the mainstream category, so you’re going to be on the poster as well.

I mean, really, the media should be careful where they get their information. Can’t trust the FBI, CIA or any government officials — except President Trump’s officials, of course.

With all that bad press going around, who would want to call on one of those mainstream media hoods in a press briefing, anyway?

They might ask an embarrassing question, like, “Did you know of any involvement by your administration with the Russian intelligence service?”

Or possibly perform a treasonous act like engaging the media in an honest and open way, letting the American people hear the “truth” out of his mouth.

I understand it would be tough.

I suspect it would be like sleeping with the enemy.
