LETTER: Time to look again at placement of U.S. Highway 101 bridge

Look again at bridge

While our pocketbooks empty over another loss of roads at the Elwha Campground, the state Department of Transportation marches to build a new U.S. Highway 101 bridge in the flood plain.

In their expert opinion, which the PDN has reported on, this is a wise idea.

Is it time to revisit the alternative route that requires a thorough value engineering study, or will we bury our heads in the sands of the Lower Elwha River?
