LETTER: Time to ditch Doonesbury, return to funny pages

I was once a big fan of Doonesbury, but third grade was quite a while ago for me, too, as is the relevance of the 30-year-old Doonesbury weekday comic strips.

They don’t play well in a post-9/11 and #MeToo age.

And now, on Sunday, cartoonist Gary Trudeau daydreams of political re-education camps after The Resistance succeeds.

That worked well for Stalin, Pol Pot and North Korea.

Time to retire Mr. Trudeau and return to the funny pages.

Dan Nieuwsma,

Port Townsend
