This letter is in response to the article “School tax credit urged.” (PDN, March 1)
Does Department of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos think the American public is stupid?
This is another tax credit for people, or organizations, who can afford to donate $5 billion to a private for-profit school each year.
It’s a scam to help the rich and take money away from federal funds that are, most likely, for public schools.
Get it?
The money that the rich could deduct from their taxes means less money for public programs.
I am dismayed at the blatant, audacious pandering to the rich and privileged of this country.
