LETTER: Strange times, people and personal values

Values are strange things to compare, consider and use.

We have politicians who state values that refuse common sense, historical logic and human behaviors.

Take two political leaders — President Donald Trump and California Gov. Jerry Brown.

These are leaders, ours and theirs.

Take the south of our magnificent land.

These folks, they will accept a serious violation of young women.

The [former Senate candidate Roy Moore] is supported by the Republican party and that fool leader of our magnificent land.

This is the land of the people that do not protect their women (of course, these women and girls may not be worth the protection for they are — after all — from the south and valueless).

The other party will not protect people that are said to be deviants of a sort, even if the defeat is an acknowledged and practical joke of no value.

We, of this party, are disregarded.

Poor us.

In the meantime, the vilest of us succeed in naming anyone they want to in Congress.

Ah, values, ethics and all of us.

Do you consider our magnificent land is going to hell in a handbasket?

Daniel Zimm,

Port Townsend
