A Voices writer on May 5 (“Shameful support”) lists hate, anger, bigotry, racism, inequality and injustice as what defines America today.
Obviously, the GOP hater does not realize he is listing the history of the Democratic Party of yesteryear.
Democrats supported slavery and segregation and founded the KKK in 1866.
Lust for power, stupidity, elitism, ignorance, and deceit, his other descriptions of America today, perfectly describe the actions of Democrats 40 years ago.
They joined with the Sierra Club to turn Americans against the nuclear power option and keep us on fossil fuels for an extra 70-80 years.
Our electrical power production could be 74 percent nuclear like France or 40 percent nuclear like Sweden.
Either way could have eliminated coal plants for electricity production.
Now, nuclear power is political poison in America and neither party will promote it.
Solar and wind are fine, but will always be intermittent electricity sources.
No radiation deaths occurred at U. S. nuclear plants last year and Fukushima had no additional deaths last year.
Annual air pollution deaths worldwide are estimated at 7 million to 8 million people.
Global warming, anyone?
With the despicable record of accomplishment and history that Democrats have, why would anyone trust them for their new ideas that are based on socialism?
Socialism, the system that in the 20th century under Soviet Russia and China killed more people by starvation and murder than both World Wars combined.
