LETTER: Sequim parking situation leaves no room for emergency vehicles

Imagine you, a loved one, a friend or neighbor is experiencing a serious medical event and has requested emergency assistance from a local fire department and ambulance.

Because of obstructive on-street parking at the entrance to your community or the medical center, the response time is increased because that help must detour in order to access your location.

Precious moments pass and the ability to diagnose and (perhaps) counteract a possible heart or cerebral condition diminishes.

Is this acceptable?

Perhaps the city of Sequim may reconsider the unilateral decision to allow parking of vehicles on both sides of Cape Hope Way.
