LETTER: School violence presents teachable moment for students

After listening to all the opinions about what this country should do about gun violence, I have a few thoughts.

Let us use this last shooting as a teaching moment for the students.

I hope that they will get adult guidance concerning how to protest and advocate in a legal and self-empowering way.

Their generation will be producing our future leaders and legislators.

Our country needs them to respect the power and responsibility we have as citizens.

We should be supporting their efforts to participate now and respect their actions.

We should also listen very carefully to their message.

They are highlighting the fact that we are killing our children while we protect arms dealers.

Who among us would vote for that?
