LETTER: Reversing Roe v. Wade would not be ‘pro-life’

I am pro-life.

I am opposed to wars, capital punishment, starvation, and physical, emotional and mental abuse.

Within that “abuse” falls the prohibition of women to choose. If Roe v. Wade is overturned, it will not in any way stop abortions.

It will instead force women to endure butchery.

I use that word, because it is used by many who are “anti-choice” in describing legal, medical abortions.

That is “fake news.”

Currently, women in the USA can safely terminate a pregnancy.

A childhood friend of mine — before Roe v. Wade — went to Mexico for her abortion.

When she returned home, she hemorrhaged.

Banning legal abortions is not going to stop women from choosing to terminate pregnancies.

And please don’t say it is killing a “baby.” It is an embryo, a fetus, etc.; it becomes a baby with “the breath of life.”

And do not say abortions kill souls. Souls are immortal.

It will send the pregnant women back into dark alleys, cold, dirty rooms, unqualified “facilitators,” and many of them to their graves.

Join me, please, in being a different sort of pro-lifer.

It will be a better world.

Carol Dries,
