LETTER: Putney has knowledge and skills for port commission

You just have to like this guy, Bill Putney.

He’s the one with the technical expertise that built the transmitter that brought our local KPTZ radio station to life.

I thank him for stepping up and running for Port of Port Townsend commissioner District 2.

The port can use one more commissioner with his knowledge and collaborative skills to see the port’s future and big picture rather than in the weeds of day-to-day operations.

Too much commission time is bogged down in minor recreation boating issues rather than figuring out how to create jobs like the port did for the wonderful marine trades industries.

Create those jobs in Port Hadlock, Chimacum, Brinnon and Quilcene.

If he can put KPTZ on the air, I am for him putting new business on the ground in the county.

He has my vote.

Vote for Bill Putney for port commissioner.

Jill Hamilton,

Port Hadlock
