LETTER: NRA not to blame for school shootings

So now it’s the National Rifle Association’s fault for all the school shootings because they support congressmen (and women).

Well, isn’t that just about as “stupid gets as stupid is?”

The NRA organization supports Congress to buy votes, some Peninsula Daily News readers say.

So that makes them a bad guy, right? No.

Wrong.

And I support the NRA.

Does the auto industry support Congress on vehicle measures to buy votes?

Well, shame on them.

Do all the U.S. states send their representatives to Washington, D.C., to influence (support their measures) to help on various local issues? Well, shame on them, too.

Point being:

Every entity that solicits Washington, D.C., for influence in their favor are guilty of “buying votes” so the NRA is no more guilty of causing any schoolchildren’s mass murders than General Motors and other auto organization’s support is the cause of 102 traffic deaths per day, per year in the USA. (Wikipedia’s latest recording with 37,461 killed in 2016).

Look it up.

For example: Why do I also support the Senior Citizens League?

Because I support their efforts to influence Congress to reinstate and increase my (and your?) Social Security benefit with an annual cost of living amount.

Does that make me and all of the other supporters of the Senior Citizens League a “bad guy,” too?

I don’t think so.
