LETTER: Need something better than polarized media that leave us screaming

Screaming over dinner

The midterm elections have come and gone.

Our agenda-driven news outlets emphasized stories to demonize the opposing side but were very good at ignoring news they didn’t agree with.

Watching the left and right candidates’ accusations of each other can be real entertainment and it can be energizing to get involved, but it is all a decoy so the entrenched establishment can distract us with partisan politics and keep control of what happens.

There was zero mention of important issues such as the money-sucking lobbyist industry in Washington, D.C.

Are you happy with our elected representatives working for wealthy donors instead of “we the people” who voted them into office?

There was no call of alarm about our seriously expanding national debt.

No coverage of how the establishment of political party hacks, mega industries and individual billionaires, the power elite, control the narrative our media put out coming up to the elections.

There was no mention of the “100-year marathon” the red Chinese government is embarking on to dominate the world and the U.S. by stealing our technology and money with unfair trade practices because the billionaire club is only interested in trade deals.

Our constitution guarantees that our country have a free press, but can’t we do better than have a news media that misdirects the attention of the American people with sensationalized, polarizing narratives that have family members screaming at each other during Thanksgiving dinner?
