LETTER: More gun laws won’t resolve issues of violence

In reference to the anti-National Rifle Association cartoon in the Peninsula Daily News on May 4: the cartoon shows a building with a NRA convention on it and “no guns allowed.”

Don’t believe it, it’s not true.

Whoever this cartoonist is doesn’t know the facts.

There are thousands of laws on the books concerning firearms, so enforce the laws already on the books.

Criminals have a nasty habit of not following laws, so what would more laws do?

Chicago has some of the strictest laws in the country, but according to “American Rifleman” Oct. 2013, only .002 percent of the criminals charged with firearms violations are convicted.

According to Mothers Against Drunk Driving: 29 people are killed every day by impaired drivers.

I don’t see many cartoons against the liquor industry.
