LETTER: Keep Benedict as Clallam County sheriff

For the past 12 years the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office has been headed by Sheriff Bill Benedict who has delivered on every promise made from his first election three terms ago.

I know from firsthand knowledge because I was his campaign chairman when he was first elected and have held volunteer positions with his office continuously since then.

Benedict’s campaign promises have all been fulfilled during his tenure making our Sheriff’s Office a model of leadership, professionalism, effectiveness and respect.

He promised the department and the jail would again achieve accreditation by the Washington Association of Sheriffs’ and Police Chiefs.

Done.

Benedict promised the formation of a Citizen’s Advisory Committee of well-respected citizens representing all segments of the county’s residents providing guidance, input and transparency.

Done.

Benedict promised critical collaboration with other related Olympic Peninsula agencies and tribes for more effective law enforcement.

Done.

He promised more outreach throughout this county.

He has participated in the Todd Ortloff Show on KONP monthly, community meetings, service clubs, Chamber of Commerce and more.

Done.

Bill promised fiscal responsibility, often coming in under budget.

Who does that?

Bill made promises to all of us and has kept them … to the letter.

A proven leader as a naval officer, sheriff’s sergeant and 12 years as sheriff.

High morale, effective law enforcement and respect.

If it ain’t broke, why take a chance?

A proven, respected and effective sheriff.

It’s in the best interest to retain Bill Benedict as sheriff.

Please vote for Bill Benedict as sheriff.
