Support for Doherty
I stand in enthusiastic support of electing Mike Doherty as Clallam County District 3 commissioner.
Doherty has the background, proven expertise and demonstrated ethical standards that residents of the Third District deserve, and should demand, from our elected officials.
It was him, alongside previous commissioners, who worked through our county budget shortfalls during the recent recession.
Those were tough negotiations within departments, with personnel, with three cities, requiring everything it takes for local government to work for us, the folks who pay the bills.
Doherty accomplished this through perseverance and steadfastness, guiding us away from the financial hole that the super-majority of Washington’s county governments fell into during those days.
Consequently, Clallam County had a small surplus in our rainy day fund coffers.
We need more people like Mike Doherty.
He’ll stick his neck out, balance a budget, and look out for the best interests of District 3, as well as for everyone who calls Clallam County home.
