A letter dated Oct. 18 in favor of I-1639 states that having a concealed pistol permit is already a state requirement to purchase a pistol.
He quotes RCW 9.41.090 as the law that requires this permit.
Obviously the writer did not read the whole of RCW 9.41.090, as it actually states that a pistol permit is one of three options.
Pistol permit is option (a), and option (c) is to wait 10 days (per RCW 9.41.092).
So if you have a Washington state drivers license or state ID, pass a background check, and wait 10 days, you can own a pistol without having a pistol permit.
This is typical of the pro I-1639 crowd that supplies false information and expects us to believe everything printed.
Yes, here we go again.
