LETTER: Anonymity keeps shooters from fame they seek

OK, it’s time to stop all these mass shootings.

And one way to stop them is actually very simple: Stop making the attacker famous.

These shooters and other attackers are losers.

They have no life and realize that they will never be famous.

They see all the other perpetrators’ names and faces displayed in high-definition on a daily basis, and realize that this is how to get attention.

The media must place a self-imposed restriction on identifying the attackers.

Refer to them as the assailant and never show their face or give their name.

Give some details regarding their background and family, but again — do not identify them.

We don’t need another law to enforce this policy.

Let the media police themselves.
