PORT TOWNSEND — The Jefferson County Historical Society walking tours of Port Townsend’s historic districts have begun for the summer season and will continue through the end of September.
Historically costumed guides take visitors on tours of both Downtown and Uptown, pointing out architecture and telling of unique history and colorful characters who built Port Townsend.
Downtown tours called “Sin at Sea Level” are at 2 p.m. on Saturdays beginning at the Jefferson Museum of Art & History, 540 Water St. Uptown tours called “The Moral High Ground” are at 2 p.m. on alternating Sundays beginning at the Rothschild House Museum, 418 Taylor St.
Tours are free for historical society members and $15 for non-members — or free with admission to the museums.
To reserve a place on either tour, make reservations by noon on the day of the tour by calling 360-385-1003.
