FORKS — Reece Depew and Cole Baysinger plan a Trophy Event and West End Sportsman’s Club membership drive from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
The activity at the Rainforest Arts Center, 35 N. Forks Ave., is Depew and Baysingers’ high school senior project.
Both credit West End Sportman’s Club with their development as outdoorsmen through hunter safety classes and use of the clubs’ shooting range.
“The membership drive is the most important aspect of this project because that is where we got our start,” the pair said.
Lunch, barbecue pulled pork sandwiches, as well as soda or water, will be available for $5 from noon to 2 p.m.
Early set up will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Participants are asked to bring mounts at this time, if possible.
At the trophy event, all mounts are welcome — big game, small game, fish and waterfowl as well as European skulls, horns and sheds.
An official scorer will be on hand to score trophies.
A blacktail mount will be on display along with a 400-inch bull elk and 200-inch mule deer.
All participants will be entered in a drawing to win prizes
