SEQUIM — Olympic Theatre Arts has announced open auditions for “Immigrant Garden — Letters” by Caroline Wood.
Auditions will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18.
The story set in 1910 tells of the unlikely friendship of two women — one a young woman from Kelso, Scotland, and the other a matronly woman from Yorkshire, England — over their love of flower gardens.
It’s the story of “an English garden and the hearts that grew it,” organizers said.
This production requires six actors: A woman in the 17-21 age range; a woman in the 60-plus age range who can speak very convincingly in a British accent, a man in the 50-plus age range, a young man age 18-22, a middle-aged man, and a middle-aged woman who can also speak with a British accent.
Auditioners who need other audition times are invited to contact the director, Cathy Marshall, at 360-808-8588.
They should come prepared to read a passage of their own choosing as well as from the script that will be provided at the time.
This show is intentionally set to run during the Lavender Festival, July 19-21.
OTA is also looking for creative people to fill out the production team. To help out behind the scenes or for more information, call 360-683-7326.
