Time Magazine on Wednesday published a list that named Strait Slice as the best pizzeria in the state.
“I was just shocked,” said Sullivan, who did not enter any contest. “We didn’t even win best on the Peninsula.”
He said his pizzeria makes a simple East Coast-style pizza and that it was “wild” that a national publication would recognize Strait Slice.
Time Magazine partnered with Yelp to develop an algorithm that picked the best pizzerias in each state. The algorithm looked at the restaurants’ star ratings and the number of reviews.
