BUSINESS BRIEFS: New Habitat construction manager … and other items

PORT ANGELES — Habit for Humanity of Clallam County has announced new construction manager Ben Pacheco.

Pacheco and his wife, Donna, moved to the area 15 years ago from Colorado.

He has worked in the construction field since the 1980s.

Pacheco has also been a Fire District No. 4 fire commissioner for 13 years.

Habitat Clallam is doubling production this fiscal year by building two homes on its Maloney Heights Property, according to a press release.

The agency is planning to build three homes in 2020.

PUD hires, promotes

PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson County Public Utility District (PUD) hired Scott Bancroft of Quilcene in July as special projects coordinator.

Bancroft replaces Bob Phillips, who passed away in April.

Bancroft previously worked for 27 years as an electrician, a machinist and a planner at the Port Townsend Paper Mill.

The PUD also promoted Jean Hall of Port Hadlock to a newly created customer service manager position.

Hall has worked for the PUD for four years.

Seeking commission members

SEQUIM — The Sequim City Council is seeking applicants for a vacancy on the city planning commission.

This vacancy must be filled by a resident within the city of Sequim.

This voluntary commission serves as the City Council’s primary advisory body on policies, regulations, and capital spending related to growth and development.

It may also conduct proceedings on specific land-use applications such as subdivisions.

The Planning Commission meets at 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the Civic Center. Meetings typically last one to two hours.

Commissioners must also review meeting materials prior to meetings and infrequently attend public meetings and events as an observer.

The positions are open until filled. Submit applications to the city clerk’s office at City Hall.
