Robyn L. Macomber, 24, of Port Angeles was hurt after she ran a red light at the intersection of Mount Pleasant Road and Highway 101, the State Patrol said.
Against red light
Troopers said Macomber, driving a black 2000 Ford Taurus, was stopped at a traffic signal in the left turn lane on Mount Pleasant Road at about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday as Charlene C. Troemel, 77, of Port Angeles was headed west on Highway 101 approaching Mount Pleasant Road in a 2010 Hyundai Elantra.
Macomber proceeded through the intersection against the red light, and the two cars collided in the intersection, the State Patrol said.
Troemel was not injured, the State Patrol said, but Macomber was taken to Olympic Medical Center via ambulance.
She had been treated for her injuries and discharged as of Thursday afternoon, a hospital spokesperson said.
The State Patrol said Macomber is expected to be cited for failing to obey a traffic control device.
