About 150 entries have been received in this year’s Guess the Guest contest with no correct guesses, though “Patty Duke” emerged several times, said Janette Force, film festival executive director.
The guest and contest winner will be announced next Wednesday, July 10. The deadline for entries is next Tuesday at 6 p.m.
The one who solves the riddle first will get to have his or her photograph taken with the film-star guest, who will be featured during the festival taking place from Sept. 20-22.
The final clue released by the film festival is:
“A wool twister, everly sister
“Weaving a way through life
“Soft mountain ridges, singing bridges,
“The peace within all life
“Ow, that hurts,” he said
“Where?” (gently moving near)
“Faintly his boyish smile
“Here and here and . . . here.”
The clue was released to the media but was “leaked” to subscribers of the film festival newsletter, which went out to subscribers Tuesday.
This joins the first two clues.
The second clue, announced June 26, is:
“A blessing in disguise
“Magical and mythical
“Hope shines in their eyes
“A star not born
“A life not led
“And yet returns
“From the dead.”
The first clue, which was released June 19, is:
“An accolade from the stage
“When well played the part
“Out of darkness, gone at last
“A story lived to heart.”
Force said this year’s guest continues a tradition that in the past included Peter Fonda, Cloris Leachman and last year’s guest, Bruce Dern, who took home a Best Actor award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival for Alexander Payne’s “Nebraska.”
Aside from the information provided in the clues, Force divulged that this year’s guest engaged in a separate art form that also will be featured at the festival, and the guest has directed plays in New York this summer.
Additionally, the guest serves on the board of a local film festival.
