Admission to the 7 p.m. lecture is $10, with proceeds to benefit the Port Townsend Food Bank.
Macy, an internationally known speaker and leader of “Work That Reconnects” workshops, will explore how people can transform feelings of despair over social and ecological crises into constructive, collaborative action.
A student of deep ecology, living systems theory and Buddhism, Macy calls this is a “moment of great danger and opportunity . . . a Great Turning.”
This point in time, she has said, calls on people to see the world as a larger living body, one where we can share our unique gifts.
In addition to her public talk Friday, Macy will lead a “Work That Reconnects” workshop at Fort Worden this Saturday and Sunday; the session is sold out.
