Instrumental music by Chris Stagg of the Commercial Arts program also will be featured at the free show from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the North Olympic Peninsula Skills Center Restaurant at 905 W. Ninth St., Port Angeles.
Young, dedicated and aspiring artists — working both with paint and food — will show off their new skills.
Visitors will see not only paintings but also demonstrations by students from the afternoon culinary program displaying techniques for working chocolate into 3-D masterpieces.
“Not only is this the first year of the Commercial Arts program at the Skills Center, but the first year for our programs to be collaborating together,” said Melissa Klein, commercial arts director.
“We are really excited for our students to work together in the show.”
Said Denise Dahll, culinary arts director: “It will be a great opportunity for these ‘culinarians’ to show off their skill, by turning their food into art.”
