UPDATE: Clallam County Sheriff's Office: Man arrested after stabbing in Deer Park area

Douglas Baker was treated and discharged from Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles, said Olympic Medical Center spokeswoman Bobby Beeman on Friday morning.

STATEMENT FROM CHIEF Criminal Deputy Ron Cameron of the Clallam County Sheriff's Office this morning (Friday):

SUSPECT CAPTURED AFTER FELONY ASSAULT

On 4-11-13 at 7:30 p.m., deputies and other agencies responded to the area of Ripplebrook Drive off Deer Park Road [east of Port Angeles] in response to a report of a stabbing.

On their arrival, the officers found the resident at the address, Douglas Baker, 60 years old, with multiple stab wounds.

Indications are that Mr. Baker was assaulted by 21-year-old Nikolai Logan who resides with the Baker family, after an argument was transported to Olympic Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.

Law Enforcement Agencies including Port Angeles Police, Washington State Patrol and US Border Patrol saturated the area with personnel including a canine unit from Port Angeles Police Department.

The search went on for several hours but he was not immediately located.

Deputies continued to patrol the general area and responded to reported sightings.

Finally, at about 1230 a.m. [today, April 12], a deputy located Logan walking on Deer Park Road. Logan was taken into custody without incident.

He was transported to the hospital to be treated for scratches and other signs of injury from being in the woods before he was booked.

The case will be forwarded to the Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney for formal charging.
