PORT ANGELES — A 40-year-old man who evaded officers and fled into a house west of downtown Port Angeles was arrested for investigation of two counts of third-degree rape-domestic violence and three counts of fourth-degree assault-domestic violence, police said.

Dennis Lee Faust was arrested at about 3:30 p.m. today on Fairmount Avenue after attempting to evade officers and fleeing into the home, Port Angeles Deputy Police Chief Brian Smith said.

The incident started at about 3 p.m., Smith said.

“He took some measures to evade our officers,” Smith said.

At least five officers responded to the incident.

“When someone goes into a fortified location like a house who is wanted for a felony, we take precautions,” Smith said.

After Faust entered the house, the occupant allowed officers to enter and they arrested him, Smith said.

It did not appear that Faust had any weapons, Smith said.

Faust was being processed for booking into Clallam County jail late this afternoon.

Smith said charging documents will be prepared for review by the county Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
