Burlington-Edison's Austin Von Herbulis broke a 2A state tournament record with 27 rebounds, including 15 offensive boards. However, only two of those offensive rebounds came in the second half, as the Wolves overcame a six-point deficit halftime deficit to lead for much of the last two quarters.
Sequim's lead reached as high as eight points, 46-38, with just over two minutes left in the game.
The Tigers mounted a rally, but were denied by clutch free-throw shooting by Anthony Pinza, Jayson Brocklesby, Gabe Carter and Alex Barry of Sequim.
The Wolves made 11 of 14 free throws in the second half.
Brocklesby led all scorers with 20 points, including 10 for 15 at the free-throw line. He also had 10 rebounds.
Barry scored eight had five rebounds and two blocks.
Sequim will play for fourth place in the 2A state tournament on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. They will face the winner of the game between Clover Park and Yakima Valley.
