Andrew David Nilsson, 27, will make his second appearance in Clallam County Superior Court at 9 a.m. Friday.
He is charged with one count of harassment/threats to kill and one count each of second-degree assault/strangulation, unlawful imprisonment, harassment/threats to kill and fourth-degree assault, all of which are domestic-violence-related.
These charges stem from Nilsson’s alleged abuse of a single individual between Sept. 26-30 and the alleged subsequent threatening of friends of that person, court documents said.
During Nilsson’s first court appearance Thursday, Clallam County Superior Court Judge S. Brooke Taylor set Nilsson’s bail at $100,000 and ordered a mental health assessment to be done on Nilsson by Peninsula Behavioral Health.
Court papers describe Nilsson as possible mentally troubled, reportedly telling witnesses to the alleged abuse that he is “the catalyst of the apocalypse” and that reptilians aliens were to come to Earth in December and harvest human organs.
Nilsson was wanted by Port Angeles police starting Oct. 3 after a search at his Port Angeles home failed to find him but did recover a small, pingpong-ball-sized homemade explosive device, which the State Patrol bomb squad later disposed of.
Nilsson was being held in Los Angeles County in November on charges of possessing illegal fireworks and offenses related to vandalizing his jail cell, though all but the fireworks possession charge were dismissed in favor of Nilsson’s extradition to Port Angeles, according to Los Angeles County Superior Court documents.
