KOMO reports (http://is.gd/Mg7prn ) it was legal to hunt the octopus. But divers say Cove Two at West Seattle should be a protected sanctuary because of the number of divers who frequently visit known octopus sites in Elliott Bay.
A man who took the octopus declined to comment to KOMO, saying there have been threats made because of online postings.
