The fire grew slightly to about 200 acres today (Friday) and was about 30 percent contained, Foster said.
The fire was moving along the vegetation corridor under some power lines, Foster said, but was not hurting the metal towers. It was throwing up plenty of smoke, she said.
More than 200 firefighters were battling the blaze.
Residents of about a dozen homes who evacuated have been allowed to return.
The fire threatened about 100 structures after it took off Thursday afternoon in gusty winds.
Meanwhile, a wildfire burning on the Colville Indian Reservation near Omak had grown to 15 square miles and was 15 percent contained Friday.
Omak fire spokeswoman Janet Pearce said 450 firefighters are battling that fire.
