August 12, 1976 February 10, 2010
Kimberly Springfield was born August 12, 1976, in Port Angeles. Kim fought a courageous five-year battle with cancer. She died peacefully at home with her husband by her side and was reunited with her daughter, Kaylee, on February 10, 2010. Kaylee passed away from leukemia April 10, 2008; she was 9 years old.
Kim grew up in Port Angeles and graduated from Port Angeles High School in 1994. She held many jobs throughout her adult life, but most recently she was employed by Clallam County Family Planning, who worked well with her through her illness until she was too sick to continue.
Kim met the love of her life, Chad Springfield, in 1989.
They married on July 27, 1997, in Port Angeles. She loved spending time with Chad, her son Tyson and daughter Kaylee. She enjoyed being outdoors; camping, hunting, clamming, hiking and taking memorable pictures. Kim always put her family first. She did not like drag racing but was always there to cheer Chad on. Kim was not a football fan at first but learned to love the game and shared those times with Chad, Tyson and their special Seahawk friend, Dr. Chatal (Cathy).
Kim recently became involved with American Cancer Society Relay For Life. She was proud of her team, Kaylee's Crusaders, and was thankful to all of her supporters.
Kim is survived by her loving husband Chad; son Tyson; mother-in-law and father-in-law Melva and Pat Springfield; sisters-in-law Mindie (Andy) Hart and Farrah Springfield; grandfather-in-law Robert Springfield; mother Diane Turrey; sister Meridi Bolstrom; brothers David Bolstrom Sr. and Jay Bolstrom Sr.; grandmother Loretta Charles; great-grandmother Hazel Sampson; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Kim was preceded in death by her daughter Kaylee, and grandfather Joe Turrey and grandmother LaVern Turrey.
Services will be held on Saturday, February 13, at 2 p.m. at Independent Bible Church, 116 E. Ahlvers Road, Port Angeles. Mike Jones will officiate.
Memorial contributions can be made to Caring for Kim and Kaylee at Strait View Credit Union, 220 S. Lincoln St., Port Angeles, WA 98362, or on their Web site at www.caringforkimandkaylee.com.
