Coast Guard Station Quillayute River sent two 47-foot motor lifeboat crews to search for the man, who was not wearing a life jacket at the time, a news release from the Coast Guard said.
Coast Guard Group/Air Station Astoria, Ore., also dispatched an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter.
The man was wearing his fishing gear, including a rain jacket, when he fell overboard at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday, the news release said.
His name was not available on Sunday night.
The search was suspended at about 5 p.m., and the fishing vessel Vicious Fisher, which is based in Bellingham, went to Neah Bay for the night, the Coast Guard said.
