The initiative would cap revenues for the state and all county and city governments based on 2009's final figures.
I-1033, which is on the Nov. 3 ballot now being voted in the all-mail election, would not directly impact school districts.
The board will take comment from the public prior to voting on a proclamation taking a stance on the initiative.
The board also is set to vote on the district's continuous school improvement plans and hear a report on the final impacts of the cuts to Initiative 728 funds.
To balance the budget, the Legislature cut more than half of the funds which were specifically designated for special school programs and to reduce class sizes.
