Update 5 p.m.
A Brinnon couple were killed today in a head-on collision between two vehicles near the junction of U.S. Highway 101 and state Highway 20 in Jefferson County.

They were identified as Richard Al Kindelspire, 62, and his wife, Taylre Kindelspire, 56.

Trooper Krista D. Hedstrom said a pickup truck driven by Richard Kindelspire collided with a motor home towing a car at about 9:45 a.m.

The driver of the motor home from Port Orchard, Linda Joyce Cordova, 66, sustained a broken foot, and was treated at and released from Jefferson Healthcare hospital in Port Townsend.

Witnesses said the pickup truck was heading north on Highway 101 when it veered onto the shoulder for a few yards. The pickup then returned to the northbound lane before veering into the path of the motor home, which was southbound on the highway.

The highway was blocked from the time of the crash until shortly after 2 p.m.

A complete report will appear in the Friday-Saturday edition of the Peninsula Daily News.
