Three people were treated for minor injuries and discharged from hospitals in Port Townsend and Bremerton.
The State Patrol cited 82-year-old Sara Starr of Grapeview for failure to yield the right of way, the agency said.
The State Patrol gave this account of the wreck:
While making a U-turn from the northbound lane of Highway 101 to the southbound lane, Starr's 1984 Dolphin motor home was hit in the side by a southbound 2002 Chevrolet van driven by Timothy Shawgo, 59, of Bremerton.
The motor home flipped onto its side in the southbound lane of Highway 101, spilling fuel across both lanes of the highway.
Traffic was backed up in both directions on both highways, while the fuel was cleaned up.
A passenger in the van — David McLeod, 58, of Port Ludlow — and Starr were taken to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, while Shawgo was taken to Jefferson Healthcare hospital in Port Townsend.
The motor home was destroyed while the van sustained heavy damage, the State Patrol said.
Both vehicles could not be driven and were towed away.
