■ PORT TOWNSEND CONCERT ON THE DOCK — Thursday, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Blue Holiday (R&B).
The free Port Townsend Concerts on the Dock, sponsored by the Port Townsend Main Street Program, continues every Thursday through Aug. 28 at the Pope Marine Plaza in downtown Port Townsend.
Bring a chair or blanket and your shades. The concerts are for all ages. Lots of danceable music.
A wine, beer and cider garden for concertgoers is available at the plaza beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Next Concert on the Dock: Rippin' Chicken (funk, boogaloo and soul jazz), July 31.
■ PORT TOWNSEND FREE FRIDAY AT THE FORT — Friday, noon to1 p.m., participants from Centrum's Jazz Port Townsend workshop led by Clarence Acox.
Centrum's Free Fridays at the Fort concert series continues every Friday through Aug. 1 at the Nora Porter Commons at Fort Worden State Park.
A state Discover Pass is not necessary for concert parking.
Grab your sun hat and sunglasses, pack a lawn chair or blanket and bring your lunch.
If weather is inclement, alternative plans will be posted on the Centrum website, www.centrum.org.
Next Free Friday concert (last of the season): A special two-hour concert Aug. 1 — Kids Concert, “old songs for young folks,” by Lightnin' Wells, 11 a.m. to noon, followed by the Acoustic Blues Gospel Choir led by Ethel Caffie-Austin and Delnora Roberts, noon to 1 p.m.
■ NEW! SUMMERTIME MUSIC — Friday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Good Machine (old-time Americana), on the outdoor stage behind the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.
The Summertime Music series continues Friday, Aug. 8; Thursday, Aug. 21; and Friday, Sept. 12, funded by the Friends of Sequim Library.
Bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating.
Aug. 8 concert: Electric violinist Geoffrey Castle.
■ NEW! FORT FLAGLER SUMMER CONCERTS — Saturday at 5 p.m., Badd Dog Blues Society (up-tempo ensemble), Fort Flagler State Park.
This year's three-concert series, sponsored by the Friends of Fort Flagler, continues Saturday, Aug. 23, and Sunday, Aug. 31. Food and beverages will be available for sale. Fort Flagler is at 10541 Flagler Road on Marrowstone Island.
No Discovery Pass is needed.
Aug. 23 concert: Joy in Mudville (formerly known as Deadwood Revival; old-time bluegrass, jam-band, Motown, rock, funk, blues).
■ PORT TOWNSEND SUMMER BAND — Sunday, July 27, at 3 p.m. in Chetzemoka Park, Jackson and Blaine streets.
This concert, organized with the Jefferson County Historical Society, will feature music that “relates directly to the community,” including the “Key City Parade March,” written by Port Townsend resident Clyde Peach, and a souvenir program with photographs and historical information as well as musical program notes.
Bring lawn chairs, blankets, family and a picnic.
