UPDATE — Port Angeles driver dies in tractor-trailer crash on state Highway 104 near Hood Canal Bridge
Cody Rae Seaman, 30, was booked Friday for investigation of driving under the influence, residential burglary and taking a motor vehicle without permission. No bond had been set as of Saturday.
Seaman had fled from the scene of a wreck Friday after the car he was driving went over an embankment off the highway and was left suspended by trees while he got out and fled, Port Angeles police said in a news release.
The car was determined to have been stolen, police said.
The city police assisted Clallam County sheriff’s deputies and State Patrol troopers with Jag, a police dog, and his handler, Cpl. Kevin Miller, in searching for the man.
Jag tracked Seaman to the basement of an occupied residence and apprehended him, police said.
“The residents were unaware that the suspect had entered their home,” police said.
“Seaman was treated for his injuries and booked in the Clallam County jail,” the release said.
