Port Townsend’s Memorial Field site of Rakers Car Show this Saturday

PORT TOWNSEND — More than 30 trophies will be awarded at the 11th annual Rakers Car Show on Saturday.

The show — open to all cars, trucks and motorcycles of any age — will go on rain or shine at Memorial Field, 550 Washington St., on Saturday.

Spectators will be admitted at 9:30 a.m. for $5; children 12 and younger accompanied by an adult and active duty military with identification and their families will be admitted free.

Check-in time for participants is from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and is $20 at the gate.

The first 175 entrants receive a Dash Plaque.

At 3 p.m. will be the awards ceremony, when 30 trophies, several custom-made, will be presented, including one for the car club with most attendees.

The Port Townsend Lighthouse Lions will provide breakfast starting at 7:30 a.m. They will serve eggs, sausage and home-fried potatoes, along with the usual coffee and doughnuts.

Lunch service will begin at 11 a.m. Sirloin burgers, hot dogs with all the trimmings, nachos and chili dogs will be served until 3 p.m.

Coffee, soda and water will be provided all day.

Raffles will be held throughout the event.

Service dogs are allowed, but no others. Alcohol, smoking, bicycles and pop-up shelters will not be permitted.
