Admission is by donation, and all ages are welcome at the 7:30 p.m. performance, which will mix Witherow's original songs with a few from Latson's former band, Abby Mae & the Homeschool Boys.
“They continue to evolve each time I see them,” presenter Norm Johnson said of the band, which gave a concert in Coyle last summer.
Witherow's sound departs from the folk bands he usually brings in — but Johnson's a fan of it.
“They have a great vocalist in Abby Mae and an amazing guitarist in Dillan Witherow,” he said, “and bassist Jason Taylor glues it all together as a trio.”
Latson, for her part, calls Coyle's community center “a remarkably special place.”
The band loved playing there, she said, adding, “There are few venues that mesh so well with an acoustic guitar and vocal harmonies, and that is what we are all about.”
Music lovers from across the North Olympic Peninsula come to Coyle for these monthly Concerts in the Woods, Johnson noted, and this Saturday is a good one for making the trip.
“June 21 is the longest day of the year and a great day to take the beautiful drive,” he said.
And as always, free coffee and cookies will be served between sets Saturday night.
Those needing directions to the community center at 923 Hazel Point Road have several sources to consult: www.coyleconcerts.com or Johnson himself at 360-765-3449 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
