Tonight signifies Friday, June 13.

PORT ANGELES — Bands called Moongrass and Trifecta, a painter new to Port Angeles and a singer-ukulelist: Such are the offerings of the Second Weekend art festivities, all starting tonight in downtown Port Angeles.

Here's the lineup of activities, free of charge unless otherwise noted.

■ “Sunlit Shadows” is the new show of watercolors by Susan Liles at Karon's Frame Center, 625 E. Front St., where refreshments and conversation with the artist await today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Liles, who moved from Montana to Port Angeles a year ago, has studied watercolor painting with well-known artists Carol Carter, Ted Nuttall and Stan Miller.

She seeks to paint sunlit subjects, in their warmth and shadow.

■ Second Friday Art Rock, tonight's live-painting-with-music party, stars Moongrass, an American-roots sextet from Bellingham, plus Port Angeles painter Lynne Roberson.

While Moongrass' musicians sing and play country, blues and Americana on guitars, banjolele, washboard, banjo, drums and bass, Roberson will use acrylics to create an on-site painting at Bar N9ne, 229 W. First St.

The evening's music and art start at 8 p.m., and a $3 cover charge supports them both.

■ Studio Bob, 1181/2 E. Front St., hosts a new show starring artists Michael Anderson, Arlene Blume and Larry White, with a free opening reception Saturday from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m.

Refreshments are on tap at the adjacent Loom bar, and then Trifecta, a trio from Seattle, will fill the place with rock, soul and blues from 8 p.m. onward.

Tickets to the dance party are $7 in advance at Odyssey Books, 114 W. Front St., and at brownpapertickets.com.

Admission will $10 at the door.

■ The Harbor Art cooperative, 110 E. Railroad Ave., showcases mixed-media creations by Tammy Hall and Anna Wiancko, ceramics by Cindy Elstrom and, this Saturday from 2 p.m. till 6 p.m., artist Bob Stokes' gourmet burgers and drinks served on the patio.

Art and food lovers are invited to dine alfresco there, with proceeds supporting the Port Angeles Arts Council.

Harbor Art will also host an evening reception from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. Saturday.

■ The Heatherton Gallery, on the ground floor of The Landing mall at 115 E. Railroad Ave., features Dee Green's acrylics and ceramics, jewelry by Linda Parcell and five guest artists plus music by singer-ukulele player Roma Peters, aka Hawaii Amor.

Refreshments, art and music flow from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.

■ Cafe New Day, 102 W. Front St., features dessert samples plus a showcase of mixed-media silk paintings by Bob Stokes during Saturday evening's art walk from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

■ The Landing Artists Studio is a working studio next door to the Heatherton Gallery at The Landing mall.

Art demonstrations and conversation with artists await during the Second Weekend reception from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
