PORT TOWNSEND — The Jefferson Healthcare hospital commissioners will hold a special meeting from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Home Health Conference Room, 2500 West Sims Way.

Review and revision of Jefferson Healthcare governance policies will continue at the meeting, and CEO Mike Glenn will provide an administrative update, according to a news release.

No action will be taken at the meeting.



Reception set in Port Ludlow for artist of the month

PORT LUDLOW — Gail Larson is the Port Ludlow Artists' League's Artist of the Month.

An opening reception for her work will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the lobby of the Port Ludlow branch of Columbia Bank, 9500 Oak Bay Road, and then from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Artists' League Gallery next door.

The monthly drawing this month will be for an original artwork by one of the league's members and will be held toward the end of the reception.

Tickets are $2 and can be purchased at the gallery. All proceeds go to the student scholarship fund, and the winner does not have to be present to win.

Larson received her formal education in art at the Cornish Art Institute, Shoreline Community College, North Seattle Community College and has attended many workshops with local and nationally recognized artists.

She has received awards in collage, water media and oils.



Hospital meeting

PORT TOWNSEND — The Jefferson Healthcare hospital commissioners will hold a special meeting from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Home Health Conference Room, 2500 West Sims Way.

Garden Tour tickets

PORT ANGELES — Tickets for the Master Gardeners' annual garden tour, Petals and Pathways 2014, are on sale.

Tickets are $15 prior to the day of the tour or $20 at the gardens on tour day.

There will be seven gardens lined up for viewing. Some are very mature, while others are rather young; some at higher elevations, others lower; some are woodsy, others not.

The tour will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 28.

Tickets are on sale at the following sites:

■   Sequim: Over the Fence, 112 E. Washington St.; Red Rooster Grocery, 134 W. Washington St.; Sunny Farms, 261461 U.S. Highway 101; Nash's Organic Produce, 4681 Sequim-Dungeness Way; Peninsula Nurseries, 1060 Sequim-Dungeness Way; and Vision Landscape Nursery, 131 Kitchen-Dick Road.

■   Port Angeles: Gross's Florist & Nusery, 826 E. First St.; Airport Garden Center, 2200 W. Edgewood Drive; Greenhouse Nursery, 81 S. Bagley Creek Road; Port Book and News, 104 E. First St.; Country Aire, 200 W. First St.; and the Extension Office, 223 E. Fourth St.

■   Port Townsend: Henery's Garden Center, 406 Benedict St.

Elks seek garage sale donations

SEQUIM — The Sequim Elks Lodge No. 2642 is seeking tax-deductible donations of quality merchandise for inclusion in its annual garage sale fundraiser, to be held
July 18-19.

Suitable items may be donated at the warehouse at the rear of the lodge, located at 143 Port Williams Road.

Donations will be accepted from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays and Tuesdays through July 8.

The lodge is unable to accept used bedding and mattresses.

Donation receipts can be issued.

Birding field trip

CHIMACUM — Admiralty Audubon will take a free field trip to 1061 Anderson Lake Road from 8:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Saturday.

The public is invited.

Meet at the parking area near the restrooms.

Anyone wanting to carpool from Port Townsend should meet at the Haines Park and Ride near Safeway by 8 a.m.

SEQUIM — This month's book discussion, held at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., will be from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein will be discussed.

Copies are available in multiple formats.

Admission is free.

Drop-ins are welcome.
