If you fit this description, you have time to concoct your entry in the Liars Contest, an event the Story People of Clallam County hosts each year.
The contest, which promises cash prizes, will go from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at the Sons of Norway Hall, 131 W. Fifth St.
Now is the time to sign up, though, since just 10 to 12 contestants will be accepted to keep the event a manageable length.
“Tellers do need to call or email me to sign up,” organizer Pat Ferris said, noting that she’s taking contestants first-come, first-served.
How to sign up
For more details and to sign up, phone Ferris at 360-477-2180 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
On contest night, the rules will be simple, Ferris notes:
■ No reading of stories; all lies must be told.
■ Stories must be family-friendly, with no profanity or off-color content.
■ Stories must be less than 10 minutes in length.
The first-place winner of the Liars Contest will take home $100, second place will win $50 and third $25, based on the judges’ rating of creativity, quality of delivery, stage presence and audience response.
