8:30 p.m. or so. Here is a sampling of places to visit and artists to meet.
■ Gallery Nine, 1012 Water St., presents “The Magic of Color,” a show starring mandala pastels by Cynthia Thomas and sculptures by Judith Komishane.
■ The Port Townsend Gallery, 715 Water St., shows off Will Kalb’s art made of mannequins along with Melinda Bryden’s steel and fused glass sculptures, including pieces placed in the gallery’s freshly open garden.
■ The Northwind Arts Center, 2409 Jefferson St., has “Creative Play,” a display of mixed-media and acrylic paintings by Kristi Galindo Dyson and Jackie VanNoy. The opening reception is set for 5:30 p.m. till 8 p.m. Saturday, and then the artists will give a free gallery talk at 1 p.m. Sunday.
