PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles Police Department investigation into a Friday afternoon bomb threat at two buildings continued through the weekend, but police were releasing few details.

“We have used up a lot of resources on it,” Port Angeles Police Spokeswoman Sgt. Barb McFall said today.

However, police were not releasing any information on whether they have suspects in the bomb threat, or where detectives are in the investigation, McFall said.

Authorities found no signs of a bomb after the evacuation and thorough search of the Clallam County Courthouse on East Fourth Street and West First Street's Armory Square Mall.

At 2:01 p.m. Friday, an unidentified male caller told a Peninsula Communications dispatcher that bombs were set to go off at the two Port Angeles buildings.

Both buildings were evacuated shortly after the call was received and employees were sent home for the day.

Police closed off East Fourth Street between Lincoln and Peabody streets at the courthouse, with officers manning posts at each end of the street to keep the public out of the area as a search for bombs was completed.

Armory Square Mall is a complex of offices at West First and Cherry streets in downtown Port Angeles.

Both office buildings are expected to be open for normal business Monday, McFall said.

In addition to Port Angeles police, the threat was being investigated by the Clallam County Sheriff's Office and the State Patrol.
