Rhododendron Festival queen, court crowned at Chimacum coronation ceremony

CHIMACUM — The 2014 Rhododendron Festival Queen Addie Richert, left, stands with, from left to right, outgoing queen Emma White Thunder and the 2014 royal court, made up of Princess Lane Hill, Prince Shiloh Lanphear-Ramierz and Princess Kaycee McGuire, at a coronation ceremony Saturday at Chimacum High School.

Richert will receive a $1,500 scholarship, while Hill, Lanphear-Ramierz and McGuire will get a $1,000 scholarship.

The 79th annual Rhododendron Festival, slated May 12-17, will have a “Roaring Rhody” theme in the spirit of the Roaring '20s.

The annual festival will feature a grand parade through Port Townsend, as well as a trike race, bed race, kids parade, pet parade, flower show, carnival, golf tournament and other events.
