Port Angeles seeks applicants for board, committee seats; application deadline is March 21

The deadline to apply is by 5 p.m. Friday, March 21.
The following are needed:
■ Board of Adjustment (three members needed): Members review administrative decisions relating to the interpretation of land-use ordinances and grant variances from provisions of zoning ordinances when the board finds that an applicant is experiencing special hardship and circumstantial difficulties.
The board meets as needed, generally the first Monday of each month, at 6 p.m.
■ Planning Commission (two members needed): Members review and make recommendations to the City Council on land development actions, including preparation of the city's comprehensive plan.
The commission also may make recommendations to individual city departments for adoption of land-use controls.
Planning commissioners are appointed to four-year terms, with a limit of two consecutive terms.
The commission meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in council chambers.
■ Port Angeles Forward Committee (three citizen-at-large members needs): The committee is charged with the implementation of local planning efforts for the revitalization of downtown Port Angeles, which includes a community-wide consensus toward a conceptual plan and implementation strategy for future downtown development.
Members need not be residents of the city.
The committee meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 a.m. in City Hall.
