OLYMPIA — The state Department of Natural Resources will close the forest road off state Highway 112 that accesses Murdock Beach today and Wednesday.

The temporary forest road closure will be at the junction of Highway 112 and forest road PA-S-2500, blocking access to the PA-S-2510 beach access road and the PA-S-2600 forest access road.

Mardi Gras party slated today in Port Townsend

PORT TOWNSEND — A Mardi Gras celebration, with New Orleans-Dixieland jazz by the Dukes of Dabob, mask-making, face-painting, a pancake dinner, a dollar auction and a procession will overtake St. Paul's Episcopal Church today.

It will run from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the church at 1020 Jefferson St.

Admission will be a suggested donation of $12 for adults and $5 for children.
